
Theatre binoculars may be a common accessory at the opera.
But the Olsen twins proved they were a little too 'cool for school' last night as the turned up to the premiere of Le Comte Ory in New York last night with their shades on.
The preening sisters proved themselves to be the ultimate posers as they arrived to the high society event with matching gold-rimmed sunglasses.

Ashley donned a black dress, teamed with a green fur shoulder wrap stole collar, while her sibling Mary-Kate also opted for the granny chic look in a Fifties-style layered black ensemble.
As is customary for the 24-year-olds, there was not a hint of a smile as they made their brooding entrance to the show.
They were joined by the likes of Claire Danes, who brought along her husband Hugh Dancy, Phantom of the Opera star Emmy Rossum and Olivia Munn, who epitomised Hollywood glamour in a stunning black gown.


German supermodel Claudia Schiffer was also hand, again deciding to where classic black, as was Julianna Margulies and husband Keith Lieberthal.
The VIPs were attending the Metropolitan Opera's premiere of Le Comte Ory.
It features renowned tenor Juan Diego Flórez, soprano Diana Damrau and mezzo Joyce DiDonato in the 200 year old production, directed by Bartlett Sher.


The plot of the opera, written by Gioachino Rossini in 1828, revolves around a love triangle, with Sher describing the premise as 'a place where love is dangerous'.
He addds: 'People get hurt. That can be very funny and very painful. Rossini captures both — with the most beautiful love music he ever wrote.'
