The 27-year-old actress wed the aspiring director on Monday evening in an 'intimate' ceremony attended by close friends and family.
They exchanged vows at a picturesque home in Chappaqua, New York, owned by her former Ugly Betty co-star, Vanessa Williams.
Her guests included Williams, Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry McConnell and Blake Lively, who appeared along side her in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants..
'The bride wore a dress by Amsale's Christos label and Fred Leighton earrings,' her spokesperson tells People magazine.
They first met at at the University of Southern California when America agreed to star in one Ryan's student film.
The became engaged in June last year and live together in Los Angeles with their golden retriever called Buddy.
