Close pals: Victoria Beckham has denied reports she has asked Eva Longoria to be goddaughter to her unborn daughter

There's no doubt the pair are firm friends.

But Victoria Beckham has denied reports she has already chosen Eva Longoria to be godmother to her unborn baby girl.

With a few weeks to go before she is scheduled to give birth to her fourth child, Posh hasn't even begun to think about the christening yet.

Mrs Beckhams' spokesperson denied a tabloid report today that the ex-Spice Girl had already given the honour to Longoria.

Her representative told the MailOnline: 'Victoria has not asked Eva to be a godmother and no christening plans have been discussed at this time.'

When little Miss Beckham does arrive, there will be a host of celebrity friends to chose from to become her godparents.

Along with husband David, Victoria is said to have considered other stars for the role, including Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Heidi Klum and Seal and even Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Victoria and Eva, who have been showbiz friends for four years, became even closer when the designer helped the actress through her divorce from basketball star Tony Parker earlier this year.

Victoria and David's first two children, 12-year-old Brooklyn and Romeo, eight, count Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley among their godparents.

Not this time: Sir Elton John and David Furnish, seen her with Victoria and Eva, are godparents to her sons Brooklyn and Romeo

Unlucky: Victoria and David also considered Gordon and Tana Ramsay for the job

Victoria is eight months pregnant with her fourth chid with David and is expected to give birth in her current home of Los Angeles.

But in a recent interview, the 37-year-old star joked she had no idea what maternity leave was, and will be working right up until the birth.

She told Glamour magazine: 'Maternity leave - what's that? I've been working incredibly hard so I'm prepared for next season.

Excited: David, seen yesterday at an Olympics event with Zara Phillips, said he's excited about welcoming a little girl into the world

'Being a working mum is hard - I think women can relate to me when I say it's like juggling glass balls.'

Meanwhile, at an event to launch the search for the Olympic torchbearer yesterday, David, 36, revealed he is hoping to take his daughter to the London Olympics when they happen in 2012.

Asked what his involvement is in the games, Beckham said: 'I'd be honoured to be something in the GB team, especially being an East End boy.

'Above all though, I'll be a fan. I'm proud and delighted to be able to take my sons to an Olympics in the area where I grew up. Hopefully my daughter will come too.'

Blooming: Victoria, seen last month, is due to give birth in July
