Hollywood horror! Alyson Hannigan leads the pack of celebs decking out their homes with spooky Halloween decorations

Spooked out: Buffy The Vampire star Alyson Hannigan was seen today decorating her home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, with Halloween decorations

Halloween is big business in Hollywood.

Just take a look at the host of Los Angeles-based stars decking their homes out with spooky decorations.

In America, celebrations for the annual holiday, which is officially marked on October 31, have already begun in earnest.

Today Buffy The Vampire Slayer actress Alyson Hannigan and husband Alexis were spotted decking out their Santa Monica home with all manner of ghoulish adornments.

There was a giant spider stuck to the front of her house, huge blow up pumpkins and illuminated ghosts hanging in the trees in the grounds of her property.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand are among other VIPs who have got in on the act.

They have decorated the gate of the Los Feliz home with a spiders web, lights and black 'boo' letters.

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale, meanwhile, has a vampire model looking down over the entrance to her home, as well as creepy spiders and orange fairy lights.

Miley's LA home has ghouls, spiders and webbing while U.S. TV host George Lopez has gone for a similar theme, completing the display with skulls.

There are many other celebs gearing up to celebrate Halloween, or All-Hallows-Eve as it also known.

Charlie Sheen today tweeted a picture, holding a mask of himself - revealing he will be dressing up as himself this year.

Other stars have taken their children to Mr Bones Pumpkin Patch, a popular haunt to stock up on the orange vegetable to create carvings out of.

But of course one of the best parties in town over the Halloween weekend will be at model Heidi Klum's home.

The mother of four throws a lavish do every year - and takes the costume choice very seriously.
