Kris Jenner swoops in to visit lonely Kim Kardashian on the set of The Marriage Counsellor

Mom to the rescue: Kris Jenner arrived in Atlanta today to visit daughter Kim Kardashian, who is there filming a cameo role in The Marriage Counsellor

Amid plugging her new book to death, Kris Jenner has found time in her hectic schedule to pay daughter Kim Kardashian a visit.

The momanager flew in to Atlanta today where Kim is filming a cameo role an upcoming Tyler Perry movie, The Marriage Counsellor.

Despite being sighted out last night with movie pals at the Spice Market inside the W Midtown hotel - Kim is quite possibly feeling the strain without her family for support.

In a telling sign she was feeling lonely, the 31-year-old reality star - who announced she was ending her marriage to Kris Humphries last week - tentatively returned to Twitter today, tweeting about how she was missing her fans.

After a relatively quiet spell on the social networking site, she sent messages to several of her followers, making comments such as 'love you doll' and 'miss you more'.

Kim has received a lot of flack in the wake of her split from Kris - after just 72 days of marriage.

She has been accused of profiting to the tune of almost $18m and has been the butt of jokes within the entertainment industry.

Over the weekend Saturday Night Live spoofed the reality star's wedding, dubbing the sketch 'Kim's Fairytale Divorce'.

And she was lampooned at last night's Country Music Awards in Nashville, where hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood - along with Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet - shared an on-stage joke at Kim's expense.

'I think you forget to sing a song about what's weighing on everyone's mind in this room,' Stonestreet said to co-hosts Carrie and Brad, adding: 'The divorce of Kim Kardashian and what's his name!'

Underwood, 28, and Paisley, 39, then joined the 40-year-old actor for a song, leaving the audience in hysterics.

They sang: 'I'm going to love you forever, or 72 days Amen, as long as Justin Bieber is not a conceiver, as long as Taylor Swift is with her current boyfriend.

'I'm going to love you for 20 million dollars, for a hit TV series or pics in Us Weekly, for 72 Days, Amen.'

Even Mariah Carey seemingly waded in yesterday while at a launch event in New York.

The singer - who has a failed marriage under her belt herself to record exec Tommy Mattola - started cooing about her three-year-marriage to Nick Cannon, saying: 'Sometimes we make each other mad,' before adding: 'That's why we aren't divorced after four months.'

Kim's estranged husband Kris, meanwhile, was spotted training today in Minnesota.
