But while the 31-year-old actor did not celebrate the holidays with Demi Moore, he did spend the festive period with her lookalike.
Ashton enjoyed Christmas in Italy with stunning brunette Lorene Scafaria, who looks remarkably like the actor’s estranged wife.
The Two and A Half Men star posted a snap of himself and the 33-year-old screenwriter to his Twitter page.
Ashton posted the photo, which also included friend Matthew Mazzant with the caption: ‘Roman holiday with homies. @mazzant @LoreneScafaria Have an amazing new year!!!’
While it appears the group are just friends there have been reports that Ashton has been romantically involved with Scafaria since February, according to Us Weekly.

A spokesperson for Kutcher was unavailable for comment earlier today.
Ashton and Lorene were seen together on Christmas Eve taking a trip to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and are said to have enjoyed a romantic dinner for two later that evening.

While Demi filed for divorce from Ashton last month Lorene recently split from The OC actor Adam Brody.
Shortly before his Italian jaunt Kutcher was seen enjoying a night out in Berlin, where he spent a night with three women.

Demi's daughter Rumer Willis tweeted a snap of one of the puppies just before Christmas and the canines have been part of the family for a couple of weeks.
