But their union ended in divorce after just six months in 2009 and she recently insisted she was in no rush to tie the knot with Cohen just yet.

She said: 'We first met four years ago and we bumped into each other last Christmas (2009) on Portobello Road in Notting Hill, London, and started dating again - and that's also where he asked me. It was romantic. I'm really happy.

'But we don't want to get married for a couple of years yet.'

Geldof has grown up in the glare of the celebrity limelight, but while press interest has tended to focus on her penchant for partying, she has carved out a niche presenting a number of youth TV programmes including Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind and A Beginner's Guide To Islam.

Her mother Paula Yates died from an accidental heroin overdose in 2000, at the age of 40.

Yates, the former presenter of Channel 4's Big Breakfast and The Tube, had split from Bob Geldof five years earlier following an affair with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.

Australian Hutchence was found dead in a hotel room in Sydney in 1997 and Yates went on to lose custody of the three children she had with Geldof - Peaches, Pixie and Fifi - the following year.
